A Perfect Partnership: Sneads Ferry and the USMC 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion
In January 2023, the Sneads Ferry Community Council Executive Committee adopted the United States Marine Corps 2D CEB (2nd Combat Engineer Battalion) to forge a relationship between the Marines and our community. The Sneads Ferry Community Center offers a great way for that relationship to grow. It allows the members of the community to help the needs of the local military to include the younger single Marines or families of deployed Marines to help them find a sense of home at a time that they may be away from theirs. It also allows the Marines to get to know the locals in a safe and productive environment. The Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival Committee is working closely with the 2D CEB Battalion on a number of fundraising opportunities and community building projects. Hand in hand, we are improving our community and supporting our Marines. The hope of the Sneads Ferry Community Council is that this partnership will from a solid foundation to nurture our relationship for years to come.
